HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE FIND THEIR FUTURE

The Christian Foundation offers an exciting alternative to school or college; learning and building skills with us is different!

We provide unique learning experiences within one of our 8 social enterprises, helping young people to find their future, gain nationally recognised qualifications and employability and life skills.

With intakes throughout the year, 15-19 year olds (up to 25 years with an EHCP) can start at any time.

There is a choice of vocational areas including: catering, bike maintenance, horticulture and livestock management, childcare and forest school, textiles and hand crafts or hospitality and administration.

The young people have the opportunity to contribute and become a vital part of the success of our enterprises, building their self-confidence.

Each small enterprise provides valued products and services to the local community and enables our young people to learn important soft skills and attitudes that employers look for.

We design a programme around each young person, providing an opportunity to work towards vocational and functional skills (maths and English) qualifications, learning in small informal groups or via online learning.

Young people in Years 10 or 11 who are 15-16 years old may come to us as a part of their school timetable. They must be on role with a school or local authority, who will remain responsible for their curriculum. This alternative provision can help motivate young people to engage in their other school learning.

With support from the staff team and each other all young people learn life skills, build their confidence, resilience and mental wellbeing and develop strategies to work through challenges that might prevent them finding their future.

16-19 Tuition Fund

The Government, through the Department for Education, has given us 16-19 Tuition funding. Commonly known as the ‘Catch-up premium’ is to be used to help young people who got behind with their maths and English because of lockdown. We are using the funds to increase our Teaching Assistant resources to offer more small group support for our young people.

All our young people are supported to find their next steps; whether it be further education, employment or an apprenticeship.

The young people also have a lot of fun as they learn, make friends and become a part of our community.

We are rated ‘Good’ by OfSTED and work alongside many local schools, local colleges, Milton Keynes Council and other educational providers to make sure we deliver the best possible service for the young people who join us.

There are opportunities for trainees to receive a fully funded course along with free lunches and travel expenses. Please contact us to find out more.
